Westerton B&B stands on the banks of the River Leny at the quiet west end of Callander. A 5 minute stroll takes you to Callander town centre's many shops and restaurants. The A84 is nearby which connects the village to Stirling, Perth and Falkirk all in under 30 minutes
This impressive Victorian home has been carefully restored and retains many of its original features including fireplaces and ornate plaster work. The 3 boutique B&B bedrooms enjoy views of the countryside around Callander. Each bedroom has a large superking size brass bed with a pocket sprung mattress set on a sprung base, feather and down duvets and pillows, as well as white Egyptian cotton bed linen. The bedrooms all have a flat screen TV, DVD player, mini fridge with fresh milk and chilled water, complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. Free high speed Wifi is available.
Breakfast is served in the elegant dining room looking out over the landscaped gardens. Guests are welcome to eat breakfast 'al fresco' in the garden on summer mornings if they wish. Options range from a traditional Scottish breakfast, to the house speciality of scrambled eggs with smoked Scottish salmon. Or try lighter options such as toasted muffin topped with sliced avocado, poached egg and holllandaise sauce.
Covid update 2021: your hosts at Westerton plan to re-open from 1st July 2021 with the best possible health and safety measures in place. They have gained the 'Good To Go' certificate through VisitScotland/VisitBritain and this is recognised by the World Travel Tourism Council as 'Safe Travels' accredited accommodation. For 2021, as well as the usual B&B tariff, they are offering Room Only rates and the option to be Exclusive Guests.
Westerton B&B provides immediate access to wonderful walking, cycling and touring opportunities within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. Callander's central location makes it an excellent touring base - the historic city of Stirling is only a 20 minute drive and the cities and international airports of Edinburgh and Glasgow are just over an hour's journey.
Within a short drive there are numerous whisky distilleries to visit, as well as historic sites such as Stirling Castle, The Wallace Monument, The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre, Inchmahome Priory, Linlithgow Palace, Inveraray Castle, Drummond Castle Gardens, Doune Castle and The Scottish Crannog Centre. Other attractions include the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies, The Scottish Antiques Centre, the Cruachan Visitor Centre and boat trips on Loch Katrine.
