The Waterside Rooms

4 Star Bed and Breakfast located on the shore of the Solway Firth near the town of Annan, Dumfries and Galloway.

The Waterside Rooms occupy a dramatic position right on the shoreline of the Solway Firth, which is both wild and spectacular, whatever the weather, with fabulous views across the Solway to the mountains of the Lake District. Dornock is at the most southerly border of Scotland and England and is surrounded by historic sites and castles.

One self-contained suite of rooms is available for guests' exclusive use, with a king size bedroom plus a double sofa bed for up to two children in the separate sitting room. The rooms have a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, and enjoy spectacular sea and mountain views. The suite has private access through a side door to the garden. All rooms are on one level. There are a few steps down to your entrance.

Breakfast is served in your sitting room with views out over the Solway Firth, and includes home made bread, yoghurt and preserves. All the meats, fish and eggs come from local suppliers. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free breakfast options available. To see how Judith makes her own bread - see the video at the bottom of this page.

The Waterside Rooms is ideally situated for visitors wishing to explore Dumfries and Galloway, Ayrshire and the borderlands between Scotland and England. Annan 2 miles. Gretna Green 7 miles. Dumfries 20 miles.
Lovers of the sea, wildlife and dramatic scenery will especially enjoy this location. Wildlife enthusiasts will also enjoy Caerlaverock Wetland Centre, Galloway Forest (Dark Skies Park), RSPB Mersehead and the Galloway Kite Trail. Nearby Castle Douglas is known as the Food Town, while Kirkcudbright is the Artist Town. Visitor attractions in the area include Annandale Distillery, The Devil's Porridge Museum, Caerlaverock Castle, Sweetheart Abbey and Moat Brae (the inspiration for J.M. Barrie's Neverland). There are numerous golf courses in the vicinity. The house is just off national cycle route 7 and can offer secure storage for bikes.
