Arden Country House is just a short drive from the capital of Edinburgh on the outskirts of the historic royal burgh of Linlithgow. Linlithgow and its palace were known as the pleasure grounds of Scottish Royals for centuries and it is famous as the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots.

The house lies in the grounds of a 100-acre estate, offering a peaceful rural retreat close to the nation's capital. The property was built in 2001 and designed with B&B as its primary purpose. Three ensuite double rooms are available, one of which is on the ground floor. All bedrooms have under floor central heating, Scottish toiletries, bathrobes, hairdryer, TV, iPod docking, hospitality tray with Scottish biscuits, chocolates and savoury snacks.

Having been born and raised in a rural setting, your hostess is very keen on home cooking, home baking and using local, seasonal produce. Beth's traditional cooked Scottish Breakfast can include Stornoway black pudding, Hornig's haggis and white pudding and locally sourced free range eggs and bacon. The menu changes daily and other options can include Eggs Benedict, Scottish Smoked Salmon, cinnamon French toast, homemade pancakes, homemade banana bread, fresh avocado with grilled bacon, vine tomatoes, served on freshly baked sourdough bread with balsamic glaze. An extensive buffet offers fresh fruits and cereals with homemade yoghurt and homemade granola. For guests who book direct, home baking with tea and coffee is served on arrival in the guest lounge. Arden Country House is only 20 minutes from Edinburgh Airport and ideally located for quickly accessing the motorway network and local railway station. It is just 16 miles from Edinburgh, 20 minutes from Stirling and 45 minutes from Glasgow.
