Scotland's Best B&Bs
Ashaig B&B is a modern bungalow, recently fully refurbished and surrounded by mature gardens in the crofting township of Kildonan. Located between Portree and Dunvegan, it offers peace and tranquillity just a short drive from the main A850 road. Its west-facing rooms provide views of spectacular sunsets and dark night skies offer the opportunity for tantalising glimpses of the Northern Lights. On a clear day you can see the mountains of Lewis and Harris in the Western Isles.
The B&B has 2 ensuite bedrooms individually designed to offer relaxing coastal vibes with a fusion of modern and vintage furnishings. 'Greshornish' is a twin room with two single beds, while 'Waternish' has a kingsize double bed. Picture windows in both bedrooms have a view of the stunning gardens overlooking Loch Greshornish. Both rooms have a flat screen TV, seated vanity (dressing table), hairdryer, tea/coffee tray and midge screen. The ensuite bathrooms feature live edge elm bathroom counters, complimentary toiletries and roomy showers.
The entire property has ground floor accommodation and a ramp for step-free access. A large parking area and reliable WiFi are available free of charge.
Several hot breakfast options are offered each morning and changed daily, ensuring that guests are unlikely to eat the same option twice. All breakfasts are freshly prepared to individual order using locally sourced ingredients. Continental options are also available including cereal, juice, yogurt, toast and seasonal fruit. For guests with an early start, a bacon butty can be made up as a quick option or take-away breakfast. If you have any dietary requirements or food allergies, please tell your hosts in advance.
Enjoy the view onto the loch and gardens from the dining room and conservatory where maps and books on Skye are available to help you plan the day ahead.
This is an eco-friendly B&B which strives to reuse, recycle and repurpose to reduce waste and use resources economically and wisely.
