Scotland offers a huge variety of opportunities for seeing and participating in alsorts of events throughout each year. Please check with individual event organisers before making your travel plans.

Traditional Highland Games are usually held all over Scotland throughout the summer months from the small village events to the huge and historic Highland Games like the Braemar Gathering attended by members of the Royal family. These are family-friendy days with plenty of opportunities for everyone to join in the fun.

When visiting Scotland, you can often come across local farmers’ markets in many towns throughout the year. The Royal Highland Show near Edinburgh or the local agricultural shows like Turriff in Aberdeenshire are held during the summer months with displays of cattle, sheep and horses.

There is something for everyone with food and whisky festivals; music events; art exhibitions; walking festivals and the enjoyment of traditional languages like the Gaelic Mod every October which will be held in Oban in 2024.
